Stupid Stupid Stupid & Steve are really really sorry for the continued delay.

Seriously, we’re really sorry for the delay in getting the album out, especially to those of you who preordered back in February. The good news is that we now have the (awesome) artwork and we’re just waiting for it to come back from the printers, and that those patient preorderers will be getting a special preorder-only treat along with their copy.

Here’s a sneak preview of the cover art to the album and the box set…

Sorry For The Delay

To any of you who pre-ordered ‘Thanks For Nothing’ at our final gig in February, we’re really sorry it’s taking so long to get you your copy. We haven’t forgotten about you, we promise, it’s just that it’s taking us a bit longer than we thought to get the whole package together. We’re really hoping we’ll have something ready by the end of August. If you weren’t at the gig and weren’t able to preorder a copy, you’ll be able to get it from the Stupid shop as soon as we have it!

So, it’s 10am on Sunday and Tim, Matt and John are back in Moonbase with Jon the engineer, mapping out the day’s work. We’re finishing up the brass first, John is honing his lyrics to ‘Quit On You’, then Tom will be joining us later to get started on some vocals.

We’re in Moonbase, recording the album which is tentatively titled ‘Thanks For Nothing’. We’ve got a pretty punishing schedule - 10 songs to get through in one weekend, but so far it’s going pretty well. We’ve got guitar, bass and drums down on Goatpuncher, The Right Way To Do Things Wrongly, Intro and they’re currently laying down a blistering version of Deathray. More updates in the comments as they happen, with some video as and when we work out how YouTube works.

All Stupid Things Must Come To An End

It’s been a fun ride, but after six years (three in our current incarnation), Stupid, Stupid, Stupid And Steve are calling it a day. Real life, proper jobs and the race to cure cancer (seriously) have conspired against us and so the gig on the 9th February at Robbin’s Well with our Nottingham soul brothers Weeble will be our last.

We have just finished recording the album, tentatively titled ‘Thanks For Nothing’, at Moonbase Studios in Coventry (Click here for as-they-happened updates). It will be available for preorder at the gig on the 9th and will probably be in our grubby little mitts by the end of February.

As ever, we’d like to thank all those people who’ve rocked, partied and shared fluids with us over the years. See you down the front!!

We Wish You A Stupid Christmas

Here’s a special Christmas treat for you - Stranded At The Bar, Jingle Bells style…

See you in 2008!!!

Eh? We won!!!

Well, we’ve not idea how we did it, but somehow we won our heat of the ObScene Vote For Bands competition! Thanks to a last minute push by you, the dedicated Stupid Army, we rocketed from last to first in the closing hours. Thanks to everyone who voted.

Vote For Us

We’re taking part in the ObScene Vote For Bands competition, and this week is our heat so we need YOUR help to get us through to the next round. Simply visit The Vote For Bands Myspace page and listen to our classic ‘Stranded At The Bar’ as many times as you can stomach it between now and next Tuesday. Each listen counts as a vote.

New downloads available!

So, we’ve got some new stuff available in the Downloads section. You can now download desktop wallpaper based on the excellent photos taken at our Epic Skatepark gig by Ellie Gibbons, or on the slightly disturbing inner-tray artwork from our second EP ‘Stupid Stupid Stupid And Steve Want No Part In This’ by Rob Hale

New merchandise available!

We now have badges and keyrings available from the Stupid Shop. The badges come in packs of 5, and the keyrings double as a bottle opener.
Only a pound, they’re the perfect gift for your Stupid friends this festive season, although if you haven’t bought them a present yet, you may very well have left it a bit late.
