Stupids Skull logo Stupid, Stupid, Stupid And Steve

New downloads available!

So, we’ve got some new stuff available in the Downloads section. You can now download desktop wallpaper based on the excellent photos taken at our Epic Skatepark gig by Ellie Gibbons, or on the slightly disturbing inner-tray artwork from our second EP ‘Stupid Stupid Stupid And Steve Want No Part In This’ by Rob Hale

New merchandise available!

We now have badges and keyrings available from the Stupid Shop. The badges come in packs of 5, and the keyrings double as a bottle opener.
Only a pound, they’re the perfect gift for your Stupid friends this festive season, although if you haven’t bought them a present yet, you may very well have left it a bit late.

Summertime, and the living is Stupid.

You may have noticed a lack of Stupid activity over the last month. This is because we’re taking a bit of time off gigging over the summer to get some new songs written, but we’ll be back atcha in August, rested up and with a bunch of new material under our belt. Those of you at the mad-sweaty Jailhouse gig back in June will have heard us debut ‘Deathray’ – hopefully by the next time you see us, we’ll have ‘Zombie Safari’ and ‘Goatpuncher’ tightened up and ready to rock very hard indeed.

We’re also working on a new look for the site, so if you turn up any time soon and it looks different, that’s because it is.

In the meantime, you can still purchase copies of both our EPs and the limited edition T-shirts at our online shop

New EP Recording Day 3

The final day begins, a day of brass and vocals, and probably no small amount of swearing. Keep checking back on the comments for updates.

New EP Recording Day 2

And so, the next day begins. Chris will be up next, laying down his ‘awesome bass groove’ for which he is so rightly famous. I’d imagine he’ll be in and out of that studio – they don’t call him Chris ‘One-take’ for nothing…

New EP Recording Day 1

Just heading to the studio now, keep up with the day’s events in the comments…

Design the cover of our next EP!!

Ok people, there’s good news and there’s bad news.

The good news is that we’ll be entering the studio in March to record our second EP. The bad news is that we’re all far too lazy to design our own artwork, so we’re throwing down the gauntlet to you, our talented legion of fans. If you’re a dab hand with a brush, pencil, charcoal, or even one of those new-fangled drawing programs we’ve been hearing so much about, we wanna see what you got. All styles are welcome, although extra points may be given to anyone who chooses to portray the band as bad-ass superheroes. (Please note, as we don’t just want a series of pictures of ourselves as superheroes, extra points will not, in fact, be given to these entries. Feel free to send ‘em in anyway though)

To get the ball rolling, Chris the Baron Of Bass has contributed the first entry, which we’ve included here as a rough guide of what not to do.

Chris's rubbish entry

While, at first glance, this entry appears to be perfectly acceptable, Chris had made two crucial mistakes:

1. The design is for a CD cover, and therefore needs to fit certain dimensions: 119.5mm in height, and 120.5mm in width. Chris has ignored this, and therefore rendered his hours of work unusable.

2. His entry is rubbish.

So there you have it. As long as you steer clear of these mistakes you should be fine. Either get your image online and link to it in the comments or if you ask really nicely you can have an address to post it to. Do that by March 7th, and the winner will be announced shortly before the release of the ep.

So what are you waiting for? We’re eagerly awaiting the massive influx of awesome art, and March is approaching even as you read this bulletin. Get drawing, people!

New shirts just in!

The limited edition white-on-khaki shirts have pretty much sold out – we have a few Medium and a few skinny-fit left – so we’ve replaced them with limited edition black-on-white. Same design (the skull logo on the left breast), same price (£8), just a different colour-combo.

Get em while they’re hot from the Online Shop!

We have T-shirts!!

We’ve just taken delivery of the first limited-edition batch of Official Stupid Stupid Stupid & Steve t-shirts. Forget the bootlegs that are selling for extortionate amounts on eBay, if it ain’t dark green it ain’t the real deal. While stocks last they’ll be available to purchase for £8 at all of our forthcoming gigs, and in the Stupid Stuff Emporium. They come in one design – white print on a dark green / khaki shirt – in Skinny Fit /Small / Medium / Large sizes.

The Stupidity of Being Steve

We’ve had an email from Steve Preston, who stumbled across our site trying to find his own. Stupid Steve, as he apparently likes to be called, is raising money for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf by doing really stupid things. Good luck to him, I say…
