New EP Recording Day 3
The final day begins, a day of brass and vocals, and probably no small amount of swearing. Keep checking back on the comments for updates.

Well Tim is laying down some funky trumpet sounds, the two Matts are doing the whole sound thang, and Chris and I are helping by staying out of the way, reading comics and watching cartoons. ROCK & ROLL!
I’ve just finished putting double-tracked trumpets on 123 and Hollwood hot tubs and am having a bacon butty to stave off the spells of dizziness caused by the combination of low blood sugar and blowing really hard into a trumpet. Matt’s now adding trombone to those 2 tracks, and I guess I’ll be back in shortly to do the remainder of my bit.
Blowing yer bone don’t half take a lot of puff, half way through and the whole thing’s really starting come together. A brief dispute between me and tim over who deserves more notes and wether super e’s are real notes is quickly resolved with a bit of studio magic, here’s hoping the same applies to the mysteriously missing track. Tim’s back in now to jam out sticks and stones and I’ve finally burnt off enough energy to sit down for a minute, but it almost certainly won’t last when the beats kick back in.
That’s sticks & stones double-tracked and now matt’s tromboning the hell out that self-same track while Tom and I finish the remaining lyrics
I am officially a cliché. We’re watching This Is Spinal Tap in a recording studio.
We’re still looking for that elusive album title, although I think we should be more worried about the missing song… Although it was fun to call John at work to tell him he has to come in tonight to redo his part. Tomorrow we phone him and tell him his dog is dead…
One big chunk of brass feedback later, and now Tom’s gone in to start on his vocals… Given this is the first time he’s seen some of these lyrics, this could take a while.
Well, I’ve been demoted to tea-boy as Tom finishes the vocals. Not being a tea drinker myself, I’m a little concerned that my tea-making skills are less mad than they could be. That said, noone has hurled their unsatisfactory tea back in my face, so perhaps things aren’t as bad as they could be…
Chris, matt and I have bap-bap-badaped our way through our backing vocals and now it’s time for W Johnathon (who has arrived, straight from work, on a Battle Of The Blands salvage mission) to sing his little heart out.
John thinks his microphone may be out of tune…
Do things ever get better when the mob gets involved? 4 men stood around a microphone suggest maybe so, but only time will tell. Punk is built on ois and heys and we’ve just inserted our fair share, now the baron returns to the action as our mission to leave with 4 tracks continues.
On the home straight now. Chris is just finished rerecording the bass track we lost on Battle Of The Blands so now it’s just down to Mr Harmless to put this baby to bed.
And that, as they say in a different business, is a wrap. We’ve rocked exceedingly hard indeed for the last few weeks, drunk a prodigious amount of tea and pretty soon we’ll have a new EP for you. And now we are going to drink until our arms fall off. Thank you and good night!
